Sorry if this has been answered, but I could not find info with this model. I do know about the 06 636, but I would like to know the top speed of the 07 zx6r, the highest I had it was close to 150 mph, with a lot more room to go. Thanks in advance. By the way this is a great bike, it needs a little help for low end torque, but other than that, the bike is fast and extremely nimble.

No idea for sure, but most 600 class bikes still top about 170.... some just get there a little faster.

According to Sportbike Mag and others magazines about 157mph.

600cc bikes dont top at 170, maybe 170 INDICATED.

but 157 sounds about right.

mine tops out at 150, but ppl claim they can go 180.. thats cuase ppl dont realize how far motorcycle speedos are off before you stick your speedohealer on~

for stock its what the person said above me, on my 05 636 with a power comander, and when i had my full akrapovic exhaust and a different sprocket i forget how many teeth but it was more then your stock 40, i got mine up to 169 but i ran out of road, im pretty sure it wasn't going to go much faster though.

newer 600cc bikes will go 170. Mine has a speedo healer on it and it has stock sprockets , and i have had my 636 to 178mph indicated 171 on the GPS , 178 indicated was with the speedo healer , so at high speeds they are still a little off with the speedo healers. Im thinking of going -1 in the front to get a little more speedo of it top speed wise

ZX6R 2007 Top Speed

I have tried and tried to push the bike to its limits.... My bike is stock with the exception of a carbon fiber two brother slip on, racing fairings, and other non pertinent extras. I can't top 163 on the speedometer, but I do take in consideration that at times I look at my speedometer and its registering 90 MPH and it seems by the flow of traffic that it my be off by 5 to 10 mph

I have taken mine up to 175 indicated.

I believe actual top is 168.

as for the bike needing help in the torque department...its a 600 man! none of the 600s make over 45 ft/lbs, and you probably wont get any more than that out of it. just not enough displacement, plus it has a short stroke for high revving, high horsepower. the only way to get more torque meaningfully would be increase the stroke, or go get a liter bike!

i love my bike though...torque-less or not. :)

I Have taken the bike to 157-SLOWLY increasing like a turttle--i dunno how much RPM was left but there was more then 2k left----now is the speedo telling the truth probally not!--now according to a gear chart-"156 at 14,000 RPM"--unless someone goes to the track n gets clocked at its highest point--or throws on a speedo healer it's all estimated speeds.

question---would the wire mod jumper change the top speed?--i noe you'll get +5hp on the high end

I've taken my 07' ZX6R up to 176 but getting there was very slow. Beyond 165 it crawled to get up to that speed as the previous poster explained. I weight 130 so that might have been a factor.

I was very surprised about this because I had an 07' ZZR600 before my current 07' ZX6R and it had no problem getting up to 180.

I'm gonna add the Jumper Mod tonight while I have the seat off thanks for the info.

Hit 176 before 1 down on front sprocket. I did have akropovic exhaust and power comander with wire jumper on. Don't know how accurate it is on the upper end and don't know how much was left from lack of road. But not much trouble getting there.

at about 160 my 08 just seemed to stop accelerating. had to push it a little to get it there, but as it climbed it just didnt feel like going any faster. (indicated speed, ofcourse).

04 636 here, Sharkskin, full muzzy, & powercommander..Hadn't weighed it but with the reduction in plastics & muzzy , I should be in the low 300's. dyno's at 115.. I can hit the rev liminter in 6th.. that is 15500 rpm.. Don't know indicated speed, cause on these so Ga. two lane roads at that speed ya don't have a lot of time to look..
